If individual lessons are desired, an additional fee of 400 SEK / 20 minutes applies
The course takes place at Kristofferskolan, Marklandsbacken 11, Bromma. Teachers are Simone Trollmo, Mirjam Charas Östergren – violin, and David Hurtado Gomez – cello (certified according to the Suzuki Method™), and Emelie Power – choir.
The course welcomes both beginners and advanced students. Playing groups are formed based on registered participants.
Please bring your own packed lunch, snacks, and water bottle.
Parents are expected to be present during the course and are fully responsible for their child throughout the course.Students who do not normally play using the Suzuki method are also welcome, but they need to have learned the repertoire by heart before the course.
Information about repertoire, groups, etc. will be sent out once the registration deadline has passed.
Registration is binding.
Simone Trollmo is a violinist specializing in early music based in Stockholm. She studied at, among others, the Stockholm Institute of Music Education and later trained as a Suzuki teacher with Päivikki Wirkkala Malmqvist and Jan Matthiesen. She runs Stockholm String Studio in Stockholm.
David Hurtado Gomez, a cellist from Colombia, first trained as a music teacher specializing in cello at Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira and then completed a Master’s degree in cello performance at the Longy School of Music in Boston. In Sweden, David further trained as a Suzuki teacher with Cecilia Weissenrieder. He currently teaches at Sundbyberg School of the Arts and at Stockholm String Studio.
Mirjam Charas Östergren is a Swedish violinist and violin pedagogue. She studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in the USA. During her time at Indiana University, she studied violin pedagogy with one of the leading pedagogues in the United States, Professor Mimi Zweig. In Sweden, Mirjam has taken lessons in violin pedagogy with Ulla Magnusson and is a certified Suzuki™ teacher after studies with Päivikki Wirkkala Malmqvist and Jan Matthiesen. She is currently a violin teacher at the Sundbyberg School of the Arts and also teaches privately.
Emelie Power is a trained organist with a vocal specialization and works at Katarina Parish focusing on children’s and youth choirs. In spring 2011, she completed her cantor degree at Ersta Sköndal University College, and in 2015 she graduated as an organist from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. She also gives private lessons in singing and music theory and sings in several professional ensembles.
